Perú will launch the touristic route of the Cacao. During this route the main farms will be visited, and the whole process of the cacao from its first step, until it turns into one of the finest grains in the world, will be observed. The Peruvian cacao has obtained prizes, as “The best chocolate in the World”, in the Salon Du Chocolat- Paris 2009 and for the Best grain and cacao liqueur, in the third edition of Chocoandino in Colombia 2011. |

Peru will be the headquaters for the interamerican congress of ministers of tourism in 2015. The XX1 Interamerican Congress of Ministers and High Authorities of Tourism of the (OEA) Organization of American States, carried out in Honduras, approved that Perú will be the headquarters for the XXIII edition of this Congress, to be held in 2015.

The Peruvian cuisine was acknowledged in the prizes “Latin America´s 50 Best Restaurants”.The Ministry of Tourism and External Commerce, Magali Silva Velarde-Alvarez, congratulated the “Astrid & Gaston” restaurant of the well known chef Gaston Acurio, for having obtained the first place in the list of the 50 best LatinAmerica Restaurants and for making known the peruvian cuisine all over the world. In the general list 6 other Peruvian Restaurants stood out: Central, owned by Virgilio Martinez, (4), “Malabar· owned by Pedro Miguel Schiaffino (7), “Maido “owned by Mitsuharu Tsumura (11), “Rafael” owned by Rafael Osterling (13), “Fiesta” (14) owned by Hector Solis, and “La Mar” also owned by Gaston curio (15) |

Monolith found in Cajamarca it will be buried again until resources are found for its preservation. Last month a group of Peruvian and Japanese archaeologists, discovered a monolith of 1.5m long and 250 kilos, in a perfect state of preservation with an estimated antiquity of around 2800 years. It is the representation of an intimidating jaguar-man that used to decorate the main entrance to the sacred place of Pacopampa/Chota- Cajamarca. |

“The Museum of the Villages” (El Museo de los Pueblos) was inaugurated in Paucartambo/Cuzco. So that visitors will be able to know the habits and traditions of the zone, as well as appreciating the flaring dresses and masks of the 17 groups that dance in the feast of Paucartambo between the 14 and 18 July, in homage to the Virgen the “Mamacha Carmen”. The dressing gowns are in their natural size and have each a description. |

The Cusco Cable Car to Choquequiraro will become a reality by 2015. The cable car to Choquequiraro will be the first one in Perú, and will start its service on October 2015. The purpose, is to create new tourist circuits, new markets, and the development of the towns around. It has been informed that it will cover an extension of 5.1 kilometers at an altitude of 1400mts. Over a river and it is estimated that it will transport around 400 persons by the hour, both ways.
Amaszonas hopes to reach 50% of the trade in the La Paz/Arequipa route. The airline will have three weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays and the departure time from Arequipa will be at 11.45am. |

Lima- As from March 2014 the new Hotel Tambo2 will start operating, and it will have 70 rooms, between single, double and triple family rooms. Colca Lodge has inaugurated an exhibition of alpacas and a museum graphic exhibition where important aspects of this resource can be observed. The animals, of all sizes and colors, come from the experimental center of genetic improvement “Pacomarca” that operates in Puno and where the most advanced works at a world level as regards selection are held.
“Mistura is probably the largest gastronomic fair in the world”. The British paper Daily Mail, comment, that “Mistura is probably the largest gastronomic festival in the world”. On its part, the gastronomic column Eater analyzed the proposals of the great chefs that took part in the 2013 edition. |

Ecotourism Festival Promised Land of Pozuzo-Pasco from the 4th to the 8th October. This Festival takes place in the city of Pozuzo, located in the province of Oxapampa. Upon their arrival in Peru, Austrian and German settlers, founded Pozuzo in 1859, and since then, they have kept their own habits in this place. Nowadays the Promised Land Festival is an event that shows the different traditions of the region, their gastronomy and typical activities. Outstanding are the sport competitions, dances and cock fights. |

Celebration of the Lord of The Miracles – Lima. The parades “procesiones” start as from the 8th to the end of the month of October. The followers dress themselves in purple robes with a white small rope in the waist and they follow the parade with lighted candles during the whole “procession”. These parades are held on the 18, 19, and 28 October. |

The Ambassador of Peru in Bolivia, Silvia Alfaro Espiniosa, inaugurated in the (Musef) National Museum of Ethnography and Folklore of the city of Sucre, the archaelogical exhibition The Lord of Vilcabamba, a Wari character from the Cuzco Jungle. This exhibition of the Lord of Vilcabamba includes trousseau, ceramic, photographs and videos that show the important finding carried out in 2010 , that forced to rewrite the history and disregard what was until a year ago part of the traditional education. |

La Paz has started to prepare on the tourist outlook, to receive next year the Dakar Rally, that will go via Potosi. In this sense works have started under the initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, representatives of the national enterprising, apart from the organization of the rally.
Community Tourism. The promotion of 22 protected areas as main destinies. Bolivia has 123 protected areas , from which 22 are promoted for community tourism as the main destinies potentially rich for tourism. |

The government intends to transform the country in a tourist power at a world level. According to the Ministry of Tourism Vinicio Alvarado, “ what is important is to assume that Ecuador has everything to become a tourist power and stands out the ecological conscience that the people of his country have developed”. |

Quito Tourism is taking steps to carry out the project of tourist investment on 5 Patrimonial Houses, situated in the Historic Center of the City, the most visited place in Quito (35% of tourists visit it), also this city was designated First Cultural Heritage of Humanity and achieved the World Travel Award as best destiny in South America 2013.
In the next four years investment in Tourism in Ecuador will exceed US600 million. This announcement was made by the Minister, Vinicio Alvarado, on inaugurating the 37th edition of the Latin America 2013 –TMLA Travel Mart, that took place in Quito. He remarked that Ecuador has a tourism potential and in this sense and in order to accomplish this purpose, the public tourism policy will be based in five fundamental basis, Security, Quality, Destinies and Products, Connectivity and Promotion.
The Travel Mart Latin America 2013, that took place in the Bicentenary Center, ex- Quito airport, housed over 300 buyers. Vinicio Alvarado, minister of Tourism, said that Ecuador´s goal is to promote and commercialize the main destinies that they offer. Among them , the Decameron Hotel in Mompiche, the railway, the Galapagos Islands, Quito, Montañita, some ecologic projects in the Amazonia, etc.
Luz Elena Coloma, manager of Quito Tourism, said that the increase of commercial flights has allowed more passengers to arrive to the capital. During the period January-April, 179,972 tourists arrived. This number reveals an increase of 20% in relation to the same period last year.
Glamping in Ecuador is a new trend in Ecuador that consists of enjoying nature with the comfort of a hotel. It couples glamour with camping. It is specially designed for those who look for unique experiences in natural settings but at the same time, do not want to leave the comfort and luxury of a 5 stars hotel. |

Towards the middle of the world and the Pululahua in a double decker bus. This new routing will have an approximate time of five hours through a new route from the Historic Center of Quito, between the United Nations Boulevard and the observatory of the Pululahua Crater, in the zone of San Antonio de Pichincha. A system of audio guides in three more languages has been implemented that has been integrated to the translation system.
Tame the Ecuadorian Airline is growing. It has 50 years in the market, covering 15 domestic routes and nowadays 9 international routes through the Latin American skyes, and is hoping this year to cover the route to New York with five weekly frequencies in non stop flights from Guayaquil. |
