The Virgin of the Candelaria 2014- Maximum expression of living culture.
One of the most important festivities in the city of Puno, is the one of the" Virgin of the Candelaria " attended by hundreds of locals and foreigners. This feast allows to show Peruvians as well as foreigners the cultural richness of Puno. As it is well known, The Virgin of the Candelaria is the patron of the city of Puno. And as every year, the streets decorated with garlands and lights, turn into the perfect place for the parade of 40000 dancers and 9000 musicians from all over the department of Puno. The festivity takes place from the 2nd February up to the 10th February.

Holiday Saloon in Brussels – From the 6th to the 10th February
Claire Thollot, Solmartour´s Representative, will attend the Holiday Salon in Brussels, invited by Prom Peru. Peru holds a very important role, as it has been designated as Honor Country.
 
 
Museum of the Archbishops Palace in Lima
There is a visit not to be missed that has been added to the tourist circuit of the Historic Centre of Lima. It is the one to the Archbishops Palace in Lima now turned into a beautiful Museum .With its neocolonial style architecture, it is located in the Main Square, at the side of the Lima Cathedral, consisting of 30 exhibition rooms with pieces of art from the XVI and XIX centuries, paintings, sculptures, objects carved in wood and covered with gold leaves and furniture of those times that are part of the rich religious and artistic inheritance of the Peruvian Culture.

Future openings of the Hotels Casa Andina in Aguas Calientes and in Trujillo
The Casa Andina Classic MachuPicchu already has an opening date, it will be on the 15th May. This new offer of the Peruvian Chain in Aguas Calientes will consist of 54 rooms distributed within its 5 floors. On the same date, the Casa Andina Private Colletction Trujillo, will be inaugurated, with 147 rooms distributed within its 14 floors.

The "Astrid & Gaston" restaurant is moving to the Casa Hacienda Moreyra, – San Isidro- Lima
On the 16th and 17th February the most renown chefs of the world will join more than 20 foreign journalist that will be coming to Peru for the inauguration of the Restaurant "Astrid & Gaston Casa Moreyra". The House part of one of the most important Farms in San Isidro, is a 300 years large house, that will become a cultural embassy for the world, and where gastronomy will be appreciated in an avant garde and creative way, that pays homage to our products, traditions and history.
 
 
A Visit to a Cellar and tasting of Pisco in Paracas.
Solmartour adds up a new product to its Paracas offer. It is a visit to a cellar in Pisco, located 15 minutes from Paracas. There, the rural property San Nicolas is found, it is part of an old Farm of the XVI Century that had its main activity in the harvest of grapes. A different experience can be enjoyed during the guided walk through its well equipped Cellar and its grapes plantation with the best pisco grapes, that have resulted in its famous Pisco. Pisco tasting, and lessons on how to prepare drinks and lunches are offered.

Spending the night at the Uyuni Salar
 In view of the positive comments of the passengers that have enjoyed the spectacular experience of spending the night in a huge desert of salt with the comfort on board a Deluxe Camper, a second Deluxe Camper is being adapted to operate in the Uyuni Salar that will satisfy the expectations of the most demanding travelers.
 
 
Second daily frequency of the Hydrofoil
 The regular itinerary for the hydrofoil is the following: From Puno to La Paz via the port of Juli (Peru) to the Islas del Sol y de La Luna (Islands of the Sun and the Moon) and Copacabana continuing by land (asphalt road) to Huatajata and La Paz. This second cruise (for groups) includes a visit to the Floating Isles of Uros in Puno and a layover at the cultural complex Inca Utama with all its attractions like the Mystic World of the Kallawayas, the Native Observatory Alaipacha or the Eco-Town Indian Roots.

Crocodiles in captivity, an attraction at the Santay Island
Located  facing the city of Guayaquil. Fresh air, no city bustle, is what those who get to the “Ramsar” marsh of the Santay Island find in the tours organized by the locals. Part of  the attraction are the eleven crocodiles in captivity. Going through the paths, that are really a number of wooden bridges entwine along the island, takes one hour. A guide, also explains the birds found at the site and the types of mangrove trees.

A cooking book takes part in the prizes "Gourmand Best in the World"
The book "Soups, Ecuador´s Identity" by the chef Edgar Leon was chosen as the best book from Ecuador. This publication by the chef is the result of 15 years of investigation of the recipes of all the regions of the country. The awards ceremony for this contest will take place on the 20th May 2014 at Beijing.
